Here is more detail on some of the alterations your dress may need:

Hemming

Depending on the height of the bride and the heel height of the bride’s shoes, there is typically some hemming required to a wedding dress. These gowns come from the designer quite long, so don’t be surprised if your dress needs to be hemmed a fair amount. Make sure to pick out your wedding shoes early and bring these to your alterations appointments. This will ensure that your dress is altered to the appropriate length.

Bust and Waist Alterations

Depending on weight loss or weight gain your dress may need to be altered before the big day. You may also find that your dress came in a little big upon ordering it or, if you’re buying a sample or pre-loved dress, that the dress is far too large on you. Don’t worry! Bust and waist alterations can be made to your gown to ensure it fits you just right.

Bustles

If your dress has a long train, you will likely want to bustle the train (attach it to the back of the dress), so that you are able to move more freely around your reception and, most importantly, dance! If required, a bustle can easily and discretely be added to the back of your train.

Cups Sizes

Many brides add additional cups into their wedding gowns. You may decide to add a cup size to your dress. Most brides do not wear a bra under their dresses, so this is something to consider and keep in mind at your fittings.
